Connect Health & Community’s amazing volunteers make it possible for us to deliver our vital health services to our community.
One of our wonderful volunteers, Tamar, loves that volunteering allows her to help others while having fun.
As an artist, Tamar works mainly by herself and finds volunteering with our hydrotherapy team a great way to address a number of passions.
“I do a lot of things by myself, which is quite isolating and was looking for a way to connect with more people. I love being in the water and swimming – I find it really calming. Helping out in the hydrotherapy pool seemed perfect,” she said.
To help us celebrate National Volunteer Week 2019, Tamar created an engaging artwork in the theme of ‘Making a world of difference’ that reflects our community, our differences and the wonderful things we all have to offer.
The vibrant and colourful piece was developed over a period of weeks as a medley of characters that come to life to portray the many ways in which our volunteers share their time, skills and experience.
The framed painting is now proudly displayed in the foyer of our Gardeners Rd, Bentleigh East office.
Tamar’s bright works reflect her personality and creative style.
When not volunteering with Connect Health & Community, Tamar designs clothing for her brand @pawpawdesigns and is currently writing a children’s book. To see more of her work, follow her on Instagram @pawpawdesigns, on Facebook or at www.pawpawdesigns.com
